BOFA D's RACING
Yes, it is official. Bofa D's has entered the world of NASCAR, sponsoring a team of NASCAR NEXTEL CUP drivers. Before you get too excited, we're talking FANTASY NASCAR. Still, we have put our good name and pride on the line purchased a team. BoFans, this our reputation at stake! In the just completed NASCAR auction draft, Bofa D's is proud to present the following drivers who will represent Bofa D's Team Racing this season.
1. Daytona 500: This race was a roller coaster ride, both for NASCAR fans, and for Bofa D's Racing. We went up against Tony Stewart, Kurt Busch, and Clint Bowyer. All looked lost as Stewart and Busch were battling 1 and 2 with 50 laps to go. Our only hope was the unlikely occurrance that the two wreck into each other. The NASCAR gods smiled on Bofa D's, and Stewart and Busch crashed into each other. With Rudd, Newman and Earnhardt all in the top 15, victory was all but assured. But then the unthinkable happened. Newman's engine broke. Then Earnhardt and Rudd crashed into each other. All three Bofa D's Racing drivers were now out. And to make matters worse, Bowyer moved up to 14 with 2 laps left. Our only hope was that he too would wreck. Sure enough, he did too! However, he managed to cross the finish line upside down and on fire, clinching defeat in what has to be considered the greatest fantasy loss ever.
2. Auto Club 500: Week 2 brought new promise to Bofa D's Racing. Ricky Rudd was dumped in favor of Jaime MacMurray, who had done well in Fontana in the past. Um, yeah. That was until he wrecked on lap 8. That left Dale Jr. and Ryan Newman to race against the undefeated juggernaut squad of Jeff Gordon, Jeff Burton and Jeff Sadler. Just kidding, Elliot Sadler, who apparently is NOT Jewish. In the time it took me to write that sentence, Dale Earnhardt's engine blew up. So he was out too. How sucky were those two guys? They both finished below Ken Schrader. And Kyle Petty. And Robby Gordon. You get the picture. At least Ryan Newman finished the race (12th), but that was not nearly enough to over come the 2nd place finish of Gordon and the fourth place finish of Burton. Fans, this could be a long season.
3. UAW-DaimlerChrysler 400 at Las Vegas: Week 3 saw a better performance, despite conditions on the Las Vegas Motor Speedway that were less than ideal. Then again, all Junior had to do was finish to improve, and that's pretty much what he did, finishing 11th. Sadly Bofa D's Racing benched Jaime MacMurray for Juan Pablo Montoya. MacMurray finished 10th, Montoya ... 22nd. Ouch. Ryan Newman paced the team in 8th place, the best showing yet for ANY Bofa D's Team Racing driver. This would all be well and good if the team didn't run up against Mark Martin (5th), Danny Hamlin (3rd) and Kasey Kahne. This Buzzsaw of Doom doomed Bofa D's to another painful defeat, a defeat made more painful by the fact that Hamlin was stolen from Bofa D's at the very last minute during the auction draft.

Dale Earnhardt Junior is the headliner of Bofa D's Racing. While his lack of a Nextel Cup Championship does not bode well for the team, he does bring an insane amount of fans to the team, as well as a cool sponsor. What is cooler than Budweiser?
Ryan Newman was slated to be Bofa D's Racing's third driver. Due to unforseen circumstances during the draft, he is now our #2 driver. Given his suckiness last year, this is not a good thing. But, Bofa D's will contend if Newman can regain his former pole winning glory. It would also help if he got a cooler sponsor. Alltel? What is that?
Ricky Rudd is the grizzled veteran of Bofa D's Racing. Dude looks like he's about 60 years old...because he is! He was chosen to provide leadership to the Yung Gunz of the team, and because he is sponsored by Snickers. As you may recall, they had the coolest (now banned) Super Bowl ad, which you can see on our Bowl Ads Page!
Juan Pablo Montoya is the rookie on the team. He apparently is a superstar in some other league where they race with "open wheels." I don't know what that means, but it seems like Daisuke Matsuza coming to the Boston Red Sox. If he can live up to the hype, Bofa D's Racing will contend for the championship.
