NCAA BASKETBALL HIGHLIGHTS

If you've read our site, you know that Bofa D's is your one stop shop for sports analysis. Who needs ESPN, Cbs Sportsline, or Yahoo Sports, when you have us? Here are the highlights of day one of the NCAA tourney:

FIRST ROUND HIGHLIGHTS

As you know, we have long been supporters of ORAL Roberts. Our dream was for the Golden Eagles to march to the final four. Sadly, Oral went down. If you want to make that into a joke, go ahead.

The HO-rizon league started out on a good note with Butler beating Old Dominion University. This guarantees at least one juvenile joke made it into the second round.

In other Ho-rizon league action, Bofa D's favorite Wright State took the floor against #3 seed Pittsburgh. The Panthers focused its attention on keeping the Raiders from getting wood, DaShaun Wood, into round two. The scrappy raiders showed real pluck, but being a long way from the Nutter Center took its toll.

Stanford/Louisville was a complete blowout, confirming my thought that Stanford sucks. The lone highlight in this snoozefest was a Stanford player named Taj Finger. Since he only played 15 minutes, it is fair to assume that at some point the coach turned to his assistant and said "Pull my Finger." Yes, this game was that lame - the gigli of NCAA games.

Perhaps the greatest shocker was the deuce Duke took in their game against VCU. And we aren't talking about a two point basket. We are literally talking about excrement. Maybe VCU is really good. But I doubt it.

SECOND ROUND HIGHLIGHTS

The HO-rizon continued to represent as Butler stormed into the sweet sixteen.

The USC TROJANS also scored an upset and found themselves continuing their quest to spread the benefits of safe sex.

But perhaps the biggest joy came when the Tennessee Volunteers beat UVA. I had UVA winning in my bracket, so I was rooting for the Cavaliers...UNTIL I realized that the Vols have a player named Wayne Chism. I instantly switched sides, bracket (and lame orange uniforms) be damned. Wayne, if you can make the final four, you might find yourself on the Great Names Throughout History page. And that's probably more satisfying than winning a national championship.
